Hopfield and Hinton win Nobel Prize in physics for AI breakthroughs

John J. Hopfield and Geoffrey E. Hinton were awarded the 2024 Nobel Prize in Physics for their seminal work on artificial neural networks, the technology underlying modern artificial intelligence.
